VJ Edgecombe is eligible for the 2025 NBA Draft. He is progressing through his freshman year in college for the Baylor Bears.

If he declares for the draft, he is projected to be selected in the top 10. According to NBA Draft Room, the Portland Trail Blazers would pick him at sixth in their mock draft. Their NBA comparisons for Edgecombe are Jalen Green, Victor Oladipo and Dwayne Wade.

"An elite talent at the SG position with all the physical tools and intangibles to be great," the NBA Draft Room said in their scouting evaluation. "Edgecombe glides on the court and is the type of athlete that is hard to look away from.
He gets above the rim effortlessly, plays with a ton of intensity and seems to have all the intangibles that make the great ones great. I don’t give him the Dwayne Wade comp lightly. He has a chance to be that good. Baylor has had a number of big time guard prospects in recent years but VJ could be the best."
