JuJu Watkins has a healthy status entering today's encounter with the Nebraska Cornhuskers. She has no injuries listed, having played in all 13 of No. 4 USC's games this season. The confirmation of her playing in the matchup will be known before the 3 p.m. ET tip-off.
Watkins is progressing through the second year of her collegiate career. As a dynamic player who can score from anywhere on the court, her elite skillset has propped her up to be seen by many as one of the best players in women's college basketball.
JuJu Watkins remains a driving force in the Trojan offense
As one of the best scorers, it is no wonder why JuJu Watkins' time with the No. 4 Trojans has been highly successful.
Thirteen games into the season, Watkins is averaging 25.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 2.5 steals, and 2.1 blocks per contest. She is shooting 45.9% from the field, including 35.8% from beyond the arc.
It has been difficult for opponents to limit her production. She has been limited to scoring under 20 points only once, when she put up 16 points against Cal Poly on Nov. 9. Since then, she has been on an 11-game streak of having 20 or more points.
Watkins' efforts have allowed USC to elevate itself into the national conversation of being seen as a title contender. They are 12-1 heading into 2025, putting up 84.5 points on 47.1% shooting overall and 33% from downtown, blowing out opponents by a whopping 32 points per game.
Their aggressiveness on both sides of the ball has been duly noted. They crash the glass for 43.2 rebounds, move the ball a lot to create 18.6 assists, force their opponents to commit 21.9 turnovers, and make 19.3 stocks (steals and blocks) per contest.
They face a Nebraska unit that has a 10-3 record this season. They hold opponents to 59.8 points on shooting splits of 37.9% from the field and 30.1% from beyond the arc. Its key player is Alexis Markowski, putting up 14.1 points and 7.8 rebounds on a solid field-goal percentage of 46.3%.
After this game, JuJu Watkins and the No. 4 Trojans will be on the road when they face Rutgers at the Jersey Mike's Arena in Piscataway, New Jersey, on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET.
