Christmas music is always festive for the holidays, especially when Mariah Carey is involved. Paige Bueckers made sure to replicate one of the singer's most popular phrases for a Christmas-themed video made by the UConn women's basketball team.
UConn's social media page uploaded a reel on Instagram that showed the squad in holiday gear as the players sang a Christmas carol. To start it off, Bueckers sang two words that showed off her vocal range.
"It's timeeeeee!" Paige Bueckers sang while hitting the high note.
It didn't take long for fans to react to the post, noting Bueckers' ability to hit the high note. Here are some of their reactions.
"Is Paige the next Mariah Carey???" one fan thought.
"Lmao Paige, Mariah Carey could never," another fan said.
"That was so Paige's idea," one fan wrote.
Others pointed out things that were going on in the video while giving their celebration for the holidays.
"Okay but why is Kaitlyn wearing bunny ears?" one fan noted.
"Love this. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!" one fan exclaimed.
"Merry Christmas to my future NCAA champions," one fan said.
Paige Bueckers roasted WNBA legend in Q&A
Paige Bueckers had some time to do an interview with NBC Sports, specifically their "On Her Turf" social media account on Thursday.
During the video, she was asked about hypothetical one-on-ones between UConn legends. One of the questions they asked involved Maya Moore and Diana Taurasi, which had Bueckers take a shot at Taurasi's defense.
"Diana don't like to play defense, so I'mma go with Maya," Bueckers said with a smile.
Twelve games into this season, Bueckers is averaging 20.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.0 steals on 56.3% shooting, including 41.7% from beyond the arc.
The Huskies are putting up 80.1 points per game while beating opponents by 25.2 ppg.
Coming off a 72-70 loss to the then-No. 7 USC Trojans on Saturday, Paige Bueckers and No. 7 UConn (10-2) will look to get back in the win column when the Huskies host Providence at the XL Center on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. ET.
