Carmelo Anthony's son, Kiyan Anthony, appeared in an episode of the "7 PM in Brooklyn" podcast that premiered on July 30 and shared his views about a potential matchup against LeBron James' son, Bronny James.
Bronny was selected as the 55th overall pick in the second round of the 2024 NBA draft by the LA Lakers and will play alongside his father on the hard court. Regarding this, Kiyan said:
“That's really fire. ... Especially him like playing with his pops. That's crazy, that's so crazy to me." (Timestamp: 1:12:54)
Kiyan, who has received offers from top schools like Syracuse, Florida State, Ohio State, USC and Rutgers as per 247Sports, expressed anticipation about possibly facing Bronny in the league:
“We could play against each other. We played against each other in high school. I was only a freshman or a sophomore and he was a senior, but now we could get to the league and play against each other. That's crazy to just think about.” (Timestamp: 01:13:05)
Entering his senior season at Long Island Lutheran High School, Kiyan is a consensus four-star recruit and the No. 1 player in New York for the class of 2025. He was also named to the ESPN Top 100 list of New York recruits, with his name right at the top.
Will Kiyan Anthony play for Syracuse?
Long Island Lutheran Crusaders' shooting guard, Kiyan Anthony, made a splash at the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL). Playing for his father's AAU team, he averaged 19.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.
According to 247Sports, he's shown strong interest in Syracuse University, where his dad won a national championship in 2003. During an official recruiting visit in October 2023, he donned a Syracuse jersey alongside his father and met head coach Jim Boeheim.
Kiyan Anthony, who signed a NIL deal with PSD last year, is ready to take his talents to the college stage, starting with the 2025-26 season.
