Caitlin Clark reflects on 'historic' 2024
2024 was an unforgettable year for Caitlin Clark.
It marked the end of her collegiate career with the Iowa Hawkeyes, but she finished on a high note. She became the NCAA's all-time leading scorer and led the Hawkeyes to their second consecutive national championship appearance.
Clark was then selected first in the 2024 WNBA draft by the Indiana Fever. Despite a slow start, she rebounded spectacularly, winning Rookie of the Year honors and leading the Fever to a playoff berth.
When TIME asked her to describe 2024 in one word, her response was fitting: "Historic.".
“I've been able to captivate so many people that have never watched women's sports, let alone women's basketball, and turn them into fans,” Clark said.
Clark has garnered considerable attention for women's basketball and women's sports as a whole. Following her record-setting rookie season in the WNBA, she has continued to make an impact in other areas, such as golf and leadership seminars.
