Jada Gyamfi and the Iowa Hawkeyes are on a run this season as they have recorded seven consecutive victories. During Thursday's Cancun Challenge against Rhode Island, the No. 22 Iowa won 69-62 as Addison O'Grady finished with 18 points, five rebounds and three blocks.

The Hawkeyes celebrated the guard's performance on Friday with a special shout-out on Instagram with the caption:

"AOG came up B1G last night."

Jada Gyamfi hyped her teammate in the comment section as she wrote:

"That is my twin."

After Caitlin Clark, Kate Martin and Gabbie Marshall graduated from the team, many were doubtful of Iowa's prospects this season. The Hawkeyes also underwent a major coaching change as Lisa Bluder retired after leading the team to two straight Final Four games.

However, under the new coach Jan Jensen, players like O'Grady, Hannah Steulke and Lucy Olsen are coming through to lead Iowa to victory. They started the season without being featured on AP's Top 25 rankings but are now at No. 22 thanks to their winning streak.

Jada Gyamfi is still awaiting her chance in the spotlight

Jada Gyamfi saw very little time on the court in her freshman season as she struggled with injuries to her ankle and a concussion from a fall. She played just eight games.

Gyamfi's struggles continued in her sophomore year as she played an average of just 4.0 minutes in 20 games. She averaged 1.4 points and 0.6 rebounds.

Now, in her junior season, the guard is still seeing restricted time on the court, averaging 4.6 minutes in five games. Coming into the season, Gyamfi was hopeful of having more impact on the team.

“I think a lot of my development has come with getting stronger and a lot more confident,” Gyamfi said in July. “I think I have all the right tools in my toolbox, but just being able to utilize them in the best way has been really important.”

While she waits for her time, Gyamfi is doing her best to support her team. As the veteran, the forward plays an important role in guiding the five freshmen who have joined the Hawkeyes this season.

“I think the biggest change that I’m really focused on and worried about is my leadership role," Gyamfi said, as per On3. "Obviously, we lost some really important seniors last year. ... Sydney has stepped up and is doing a great job of taking over that, but she can’t do it alone.
"So, I’m definitely trying to support her through that and use some of the things that I learned from those seniors that I got really close with and keep the culture going.”

The Hawkeyes will next play against Tennessee on Dec. 7.
