Iowa Hawkeyes junior Jada Gyamfi shared Caitlin Clark's record-breaking moment from last year with her 61k Instagram fans. In a collaborative update, the Naismith Trophy and the Big Ten Conference's IG handle posted Clark's 902nd career assist.
The timely dime to Hannah Stuelke under the basket made the former Iowa Hawkeyes guard the all-time career assist leader in Big Ten history.
Jada Gyamfi reposted the clip of Clark's bullet pass on her story with multiple microscope emojis to highlight the Indiana Fever guard's vision.
Big Ten and the Naismith Trophy's throwback post arrived because Dec. 30, 2024, marks the first anniversary of Clark's record. The now-Indiana Fever star garnered a 35-point and 10-assist double-double against Minnesota in the contest, surpassing Ohio State's Samantha Prahalis' all-time Big Ten record of 901 assists.
Caitlin Clark also climbed to the fifth spot on the all-time NCAA scoring leaderboard after the game. She also became the first Division I player (men or women) to have more than 3,000 points, 900 assists and 800 rebounds.
Clark finished her college career with 3,951 points as the all-time NCAA leader in both men's and women's basketball. While her 990 rebounds failed to make the top-25 category, her 1,144 assists give her the third spot on the all-time assist leaderboard.
Jada Gyamfi had a hilarious reaction to Caitlin Clark's jersey retirement news
Earlier this month, Iowa Hawkeyes announced that the school plans to honor Caitlin Clark by retiring her #22 jersey. The moment will unfold during a special ceremony on Feb. 2, 2025, when Clark will be there to witness the Hawkeyes face the USC Trojans at the Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
As the Hawkeyes announced the news on Instagram, Jada Gyamfi posted a hilarious comment. As fans replied to Gyamfi for her humorous take, more than 1,100 users liked her comment.
"She must’ve been really good!" Gyamfi wrote.
Picked up as the first pick in the 2024 WNBA draft, Clark not only helped Indiana Fever clinch a playoff berth for the first time since 2016 but also won the Rookie of the Year award. She also broke the WNBA’s rookie-season points, assists and 3-pointers record.
