The Duke Blue Devils women's basketball team visited Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics at the TD Garden before beginning their slate of games in 2025. The program posted a group image of the entire cast, including the coach, Kara Lawson.

The program expressed gratitude for the franchise and Tatum, whose net worth is $80 million (as per Celebrity Net Worth), for a warm welcome and hospitality of the women's squad, wishing the Celtics the best for their 19th championship run.

"Thank you @celtics for having us out - always love!! Locked in on your pursuit of Banner 19. Special s/o @jaytatum0 too 💙😈☘️," the post read.

Jayson Tatum also reacted to the program's shoutout. The NBA franchise's Instagram handle also followed suit:

"🤞🏽❤️," Tatum wrote.
"Family 💙💚," Celtics commented.

The Lady Blue Devils' trip to the Celtics came during their road trip to play Boston College at Conte Forum. The Eagles' home court is just 11 miles away from the TD Garden, where the Celtics host their games.

Jayson Tatum is just the 8th Duke player to lift the NBA title

Duke is one of the top schools when it comes to producing high-caliber NBA talent. The program has sent over 90 players to the big league, with more than 20 of them still playing.

However, Jayson Tatum became only the eighth former Blue Devil to lift the NBA trophy when the Celtics won it in the 2024 NBA Finals (4-1). Interestingly, Tatum battled against two other former Duke players, Kyrie Irving and Dereck Lively II, on the Dallas Mavericks. Irving and Tatum played for Mike Krzyzewski in college while Lively played for Jon Scheyer.

Tatum averaged 22.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 7.2 assists during the Finals. On the other hand, Irving posted 19.8 points, 5.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds while Lively averaged 5.6 points and 8.2 rebounds.

Apart from Jayson Tatum, other championship figures from Duke are Jack White (2023), Quinn Cook (2020, 2018), Kyrie Irving and Dahntay Jones (2016), Shane Battier (2013, 2012), Danny Ferry (2003) and Jeff Mullins (1975).
