JuJu Watkins' led USC Trojans defeated Paige Bueckers' UConn Huskies 72-70 after an intense battle at the XL Center in Connecticut on Saturday. Coming off a heartbreaking loss in last season's Elite Eight, Watkins was determined to exercise those demons and right the wrongs from that game this time around.
Speaking to reporter Allison Williams courtside after the game, Watkins spoke about her desire to hang on for this win because of last season's loss.
"I mean, UConn, they're the toughest competitors, so, you know, we knew we had to get the dub, I mean, coming off of last year this was really important for me, so... I gave it my all, this team gave it their all, you know we fought 'til the end," she said.
