The Tennessee Volunteers have achieved a significant milestone this season, standing tall as the only undefeated men's team left in the country. With an impressive 14-0 record, they’ve proven their dominance on the court, showcasing consistency and grit.

However, not all fans are optimistic about Tennessee's future, buzzing on social media with mixed reactions.

In a post on Instagram on Saturday, College Basketball Report praised Tennessee’s flawless record as the last undefeated team in the country.

Not everyone is convinced of their pedigree, as one fan predicted their post-season run during March Madness.

“Just to lose in the 1st round,” they commented.

There was a mix of opinions as other fans showed their support for The Volunteers while some other fans expressed their skepticism,

The skepticism is not entirely unfounded. Despite their regular-season success, Tennessee has struggled to convert it into deep tournament runs. Last year, Tennessee was eliminated by Purdue in the Elite 8, losing 72-66 on Mar. 31, a disappointing end for a team that had high hopes.

This year, the Volunteers face the challenge of proving that their undefeated record is not just a regular-season feat but a stepping stone to tournament success.

Tennessee Volunteers Off to historic 14-0 start with win over Arkansas

The Tennessee Volunteers continued its impressive run, matching the best start in program history with a commanding 76-52 victory over No. 23-ranked Arkansas on Saturday.

The win improved their record to 14-0 and ensured they maintained the No. 1 spot in the AP ranking for the fifth consecutive week, setting a new program milestone.

The Volunteers' 1922-23 team also began 14-0, but this year’s squad has the opportunity to surpass that mark in their next game. Senior guard Chaz Lanier was instrumental in the win, scoring a season-high 29 points.

He has now recorded at least 20 points in three straight games and seven times this season. Lanier’s performance included shooting 10-of-20 from the field and hitting 5-of-9 three-pointers, averaging 20.3 points.

Tennessee also received a boost from Igor Milicic Jr., who dominated with 18 rebounds, 13 points, and five assists. Zakai Zeigler added 12 points to round out the Vols' top scorers list.

For Arkansas, D.J. Wagner led with 17 points, while Boogie Fland contributed 12. Former Tennessee player Jonas Aidoo, who transferred to Arkansas for his senior season, was held to just four points and five rebounds.

Aidoo, who had been a key player for the Volunteers last season, has faced challenges this year, averaging 6.1 points and 4.1 rebounds due to injury.

The loss drops Arkansas to 11-3 overall as they’ll look to rebound on Wednesday when they host No. 24-ranked Ole Miss. Tennessee will be aiming for a 15-0 start, potentially the best in program history, when they travel to face No. 6-ranked Florida on Tuesday.
