LSU Tigers star Flau'jae Johnson has improved her game this year, averaging 5.1 more points per game than last season. ESPNW posted about this on Thursday, and Johnson's mother, Kia Brooks, was quick to praise her daughter.
Brooks shared the post from ESPNW to her Instagram Story and inserted two messages over the post.
"This ain't no sprint, it's a marathon," Brooks wrote.
She also encouraged Johnson with a sweet message.

Flau'jae Johnson shares her starting five in college hoops
Flau'jae Johnson has turned heads in women’s college basketball with her starting five selections, leaving out stars like Hannah Hidalgo, Paige Bueckers and JuJu Watkins.
Instead of highlighting some of the biggest names in the sport, the LSU guard showed unwavering loyalty by picking her current teammates Aneesah Morrow, Sa'Myah Smith, Mikaylah Williams and Shayeann Day-Wilson.
"My starting five? Shoot. My team. I got the best starting five in the country. No cap," she said in a clip on Best of Both Worlds’ Instagram.
No. 5 LSU’s confidence, backed by an impressive 20-0 record (5-0 SEC), faces its toughest test yet tomorrow as it takes on defending champions No. 2 South Carolina (19-1, 6-0 SEC) at Colonial Life Arena. The game was originally scheduled to take place on Thursday, but due to weather issues, it has been postponed to Friday.
This won't bother South Carolina, however. The Gamecocks have proven their dominance this season, playing eight ranked opponents and winning seven of those games, including four against teams ranked in the top nine.
While LSU has excelled so far, their schedule has only included two ranked teams outside the top 15, which is reflected in their ranking despite being undefeated. This makes the Gamecocks matchup a significant step up in competition.
