Kiki Iriafen and the USC Trojans suffered their first defeat of the season on Saturday, losing to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at home.

Iriafen was one of three players to score in double figures for USC, recording 15 points in the 74-61 loss. She shot 5 of 15 from the field and made all five of her free throw attempts.

Iriafen also had nine rebounds, two assists and one block in 40 minutes of action.

Kiki Iriafen, USC Trojans struggle against Notre Dame's defense

Iriafen and the Trojans struggled to unlock Notre Dame's defense. They shot just 35.8% from the field, including 1 of 13 from beyond the arc.

USC's starters committed 21 turnovers, including four from Iriafen. The Fighting Irish took advantage of it, scoring 22 points off of it.

JuJu Watkins led the way for USC on the offensive end. She finished the game with 24 points on 10 of 25 shooting. However, her perimeter game was nonexistent as she went 0 for 5 from beyond the arc.

Hannah Hidalgo and Olivia Miles power Notre Dame's upset win

Notre Dame dominated from the get-go, building a 20-10 lead after the first quarter. Hannah Hidalgo shined for the Fighting Irish, scoring 11 points during that period.

Olivia Miles helped Notre Dame keep USC at bay in the second half, scoring 14 points to seal the win.

USC needs more offense from Iriafen with Kennedy Smith sidelined

The Trojans will need to get more offensive production from Iriafen, with Kennedy Smith set for an extended absence after undergoing surgery.

Iriafen is second on the team in scoring, averaging 16.8 points per game this season. She scored 22 points in USC's season opener against Ole Miss, including the game-winning free throws with 10 seconds remaining.

Iriafen followed it up with a 12-point performance against Cal Poly and a 15-point outing versus Cal State Northridge. She then stuffed the stat sheet in the win over Santa Clara, recording 20 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals.
