LSU coach Kim Mulkey made her admiration for the team's star player Aneesah Morrow clear following the Tigers' 91-64 win over Seton Hall on Tuesday at Mohegan Sun Arena. Morrow delivered a standout performance, scoring 24 points and grabbing 19 rebounds.

The 6-foot-1 senior guard has been a key cog in No. 5 LSU's dominant start to the season. With their victory in the Basketball Hall of Fame Women’s Showcase, the Tigers improved to 13-0.

Aneesah Morrow — who transferred from DePaul after her sophomore season — made her 11th double-double in 13 games this season. Mulkey was effusive in her praise for her consistent production.

"Morrow is a double-double machine. She just is," Mulkey said after the game (0:48 mark). "She's an undersized post player. As you saw, she can shoot the 3-ball. You don't have to have her shoot the 3-ball."
"But she can face you up as an undersized post player. She can defend down there, because she's going to pull the chair out from under you. She's going to get past in lane and steal the ball. And just really an honor to coach that kid."

Morrow’s 24 points marked her second-highest scoring output of the season, while her 19 rebounds were one shy of her season high of 20, which she recorded against Charleston Southern earlier this season.

Aneesah Morrow stats vs. Seton Hall (Dec. 17)

One of the main reasons behind LSU's perfect 13-0 start has been the stellar play of Morrow, who had another dominant performance against the Seton Hall Pirates.

The Chicago native scored 24 points on 8-for-13 shooting, including 2-for-3 from 3-point range and 6-of-8 from the free-throw line.

Here is Aneesah Morrow's full stat line:

  • 35 minutes played
  • 24 points
  • 19 rebounds
  • 2 assists
  • 3 steals
  • 1 block
  • 2 turnovers
  • 8-13 FG
  • 2-3 3PT
  • 6-8 FT

It was Morrow’s third consecutive double-double and her fourth straight game with at least 15 rebounds. Her total career rebounds now stand at 1,412, placing her in the top 25 in NCAA history.

"This was my last game before I entered the portal here in the Mohegan Sun and then for this to be the game before I go home, it was like a full circle moment," Morrow said postgame. "I really enjoy playing Seton Hall. They’re a tough team in the Big East."

LSU's next game is against Aneesah Morrow's home-state university, the UIC Flames on Thursday.
