Kim Mulkey showed support for Flau'jae Johnson in a press conference on Sunday after the LSU star was involved in a South Carolina DJ controversy concerning her late father.

The Gamecocks' DJ played a song by Johnson's late dad after South Carolina's 66-56 win over LSU at Colonial Life Arena on Friday.

Mulkey was asked about the issue during her media briefing.

"I do know what happened. I did not at the time," Mulkey said. "I found out and was approached about it after practice yesterday. You have to remember, I don’t know social media so I had to be fully explained what took place and what was going on."
"After hearing it, all I care about is Flau’jae. All I care about is her family. What South Carolina does is South Carolina’s doings. I love that kid. I could not imagine her thoughts when it went down," Mulkey said.
"She is so joyful. She is so wonderful for LSU and our game. I love that child and I love her parents. That's my comment on it."

The South Carolina Gamecocks' athletic department apologized to Flau'jae Johnson and her family following the DJ controversy after their game against the LSU Tigers.

They have suspended DJ T.O., the Gamecocks in-arena DJ, for South Carolina's next home game. She played a song by Johnson's late father, Jason. The Georgia-based rapper was shot and killed six months before the LSU star was born.

Flau’jae Johnson delivers for Kim Mulkey in LSU’s win over Texas A&M

The LSU Tigers bounced back from their loss to the South Carolina Gamecocks, beating the Texas A&M Aggies 64-51 at Pete Maravich Assembly Center on Sunday. Two players scored in double figures for the Tigers, who improved their overall record to 21-1.

Flau’jae Johnson led No. 5 LSU in scoring with 22 points. She shot 7-for-18 from the field and knocked down all eight of her free-throw attempts. It was the 12th time this season that Johnson has scored at least 20 points in a game. She also had five rebounds, four steals and two assists in 30 minutes of action.

Aneesah Morrow also contributed with 19 points. She shot 8-for-16 from the floor and 3-of-4 at the charity stripe. She displayed her defensive prowess against the Aggies, tallying four steals and two blocks.

Her double-double streak ended, though, as she finished the game with just nine rebounds. Morrow had double-doubles in 11 consecutive games before the win against Texas A&M.
