High school senior Kiyan Anthony's mother, La La Anthony, showed her love for LeBron James’ wife, Savannah James, on her latest Instagram post. On Monday, Savannah posted a picture in an all-black oversized fit and wrote in the caption:
"🖤Fye Fye Fye🖤"
La La Anthony reacted in the comments with a series of emojis.
"😍😍😍😍😍😍😍"
Both La La and Savannah have sons who are set to move to college next year. While Kiyan Anthony has chosen the Syracuse Orange, Bryce James has yet to make his final choice.
With the move to Syracuse, Kiyan Anthony will follow in his father Carmelo Anthony's footsteps. The NBA legend played just one season with the Orange and led them to the 2003 NCAA championship.
Kiyan told ESPN in November:
"Ultimately, it came down to my relationship with the staff. From day one, when they started recruiting me, they made me feel like it was family. My dad's name on the facility is special, but I want to go in there and create my own name."
La La Anthony reveals why she named her son Kiyan Anthony
It is not uncommon for sons to be named after their fathers, and while Carmelo and La La could have gone that way, they specifically chose not to. La La joined Melo and Kiyan on the "7PM in Brooklyn" podcast last month when the young guard announced his college decision.
During the conversation, she spoke about the reason they chose to name him Kiyan Carmelo Anthony.
"I just always told him from the beginning, like you have to create your own lane," La La said. "You're not trying to recreate what your dad did, which also is funny because you know, Mel and I strategically made the decision not to name him Carmelo Anthony.
"That was something we sat and really talked about because we said if you ever played basketball, just the extra pressure of being named Carmelo Anthony." (17:41-17:58)
Kiyan Anthony is ranked as the No. 1 recruit in New York and will hope to lead the Orange on a championship run, like his father.
