Kiyan Anthony is quickly making a name for himself in the Nike EYBL circuit. On Friday, Anthony's Team Melo took on Team Durant and won 73-66 in overtime, with Kiyan scoring 27 points. However, a specific moment from the match-up is going viral on social media.

In the video circulating on X/Twitter, Kiyan, the son of NBA great Carmelo Anthony, is seen coming face to face with an opponent and exchanging words with each other. Before things could get any further out of hand, his father jumped in and separated the two players.

Carmelo Anthony could be smiling as he tried to defuse the situation. The former New York Knicks legend is well aware of the different types of treatment that Kiyan Anthony will face as the son of a former NBA player. In an April episode of his "7 PM in Brooklyn" podcast, Melo said:

"He going to have to deal with it totally different than me. He going to have to deal with it, deal with it. I had to deal with other type of s**t, he going to have to deal with it, deal with it. So I gotta just show him by an example. I got to put him in those environments," Anthony said.
"I got to see him in those environments to understand how he's going to react in certain environments. What you going to do when somebody say 'f**k you' and say this about me and say this about your mom and say XYZ? How you going to react to that in the middle of you got to go get a bucket or you got to get a stop. Like how?" he added.

Thus far, Kiyan Anthony seems to be holding his ground and taking his opponents head-on.

Time is closing in as Kiyan Anthony prepares to choose his college future

The 6-foot-4 point guard, while preparing for his senior year at Long Island Lutheran, will also be deciding on his college future. Kiyan has received several offers, including one from his father's alma mater, Syracuse University, along with Florida State, Kentucky, Michigan, Indiana and Arizona State among others.

In an interview with Yahoo Sports last year, Kiyan Anthony revealed that he plans to focus on his final high school year once the season starts in November:

"The whole recruiting process is good and my options are still all the way open," he said. "I feel like everyone does think I’m going to go to Syracuse, but that’s not the case. Syracuse is definitely an option and a school I like, but I’m going to go to the best place for me."
