Carmelo Anthony's son Kiyan Anthony and LeBron James' son Bronny James now have a chance of facing off in the NBA, just like their fathers did. Kiyan and Bronny played previously against each other in high school. Their next matchup could be at the professional level.

Lakers rookie Bronny James was a senior in high school while La La Anthony's son was a freshman. On Monday, Kiyan joined Paul George on the "7PM in Brooklyn" podcast where he talked about his journey and the expectations of his career with Carmelo and The Kid Mero.

When Mero asked Kiyan Anthony about the experience of seeing Bronny get drafted into the NBA, Kiyan expressed his admiration for his friend.

"It was fire," Kiyan Anthony said [Time Stamp: 5:47]. "Just to know that he started it, and I got a chance to follow, not follow him, but get to where he's at in the league. That's fire. I texted him everything. We was on the phone. That's really fire. Especially him playing with his pops. That's crazy. That's so crazy to me."
"We could play against each other like we played in high school," Kiyan added. "I was only a freshman and he was a senior but now that we could get to the league and play against each other that, it's crazy to just think about."

Kiyan was ranked the No. 1 prospect in New York by ESPN on Wednesday. He is also ranked 40th overall in the ESPN 100, the ninth-best player in his position, and the seventh-best prospect regionally. On July 25, the 6-foot-5 guard announced his list of final six schools: Auburn, Syracuse, Ohio State, Florida State, Rutgers and USC.

Kiyan Anthony shares the exact moment he realized his game

Kiyan Anthony — a Denver, Colorado, native — received a lot of praise for his performance at the 2024 Nike EYBL Peach Jam. For Team Melo, he averaged 21.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.

However, long before Peach Jam, Kiyan realized there was something special about his game.

"Sophomore year, like summer, going into my junior year," Kiyan told his father Carmelo. "Sophomore year, I transferred mid-year so I couldn't finish my season. So once I got to the AAU circuit, that was the first time everybody got to see me and I feel like that was like, yeah, I'm here. That was the moment."

Kiyan Anthony will play his last year of high school basketball at Long Island Lutheran this season. He moved there from Christ the King High School in Queens in 2023.
