Lauren Betts scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead No. 1-ranked UCLA to a 97-41 win over Fresno State on the second day of the Rainbow Wahine Showdown at the SimpliFi Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii on Saturday.
The 6-foot-7 junior, who recorded her fifth-straight double-double and sixth in seven games this season, played 24 minutes and shot 9 of 16 from the field and 2 of 4 from the free throw line. She also had one assist and one block for the Bruins, who improved to 7-0.
Betts scored UCLA's first two points on a follow up off Elina Aarnisalo's miss. She'd knocked down a free throw and dished it off to Angela Dugalic, who buried a 3-pointer to give UCLA a 6-0 lead.
The center then increased her tally to eight points, making two layups and a free throw for a 25-9 advantage at the 3:04 mark of the first period. Betts added four points to her total in the second frame, making two layups that handed UCLA a 50-23 lead with 1:53 left in the first half.
Lauren Betts chalked eight more points into her account in the third period. She made four layups, boosting her total to 20 points.
UCLA coach Cori Close would sit out Betts at the 7:16 mark of the fourth quarter, with the Bruins holding an 85-36 lead over the Bulldogs.

UCLA dominated Fresno State from the start, scoring 80 points in the first three quarters before coasting along in the payoff period. The Bruins shot 56.2% from the field and had a 50-24 edge in the rebounding battle.
UCLA assisted on 28 of 41 made shots and committed only 12 errors. The Bruins took advantage of their height and scored 58 inside points compared to just two by the Bulldogs.
Lauren Betts was the top scorer for UCLA with 20 points and she was backed up by Gabriela Jaquez and Kiki Rice, who both contributed 15 each.
Janiah Barker came off the bench to put up 13 points while Andrea Dugalic added 11 markers for the Bruins, who will play Hawaii on the last day of the Rainbow Wahine Showdown on Sunday.
UCLA will have a one-week break after the Honolulu trip and clash with Big Ten foe Washington next Sunday.
