Lauren Betts picked up her seventh double-double of the 2024-25 women's college basketball season, leading the top-ranked UCLA to a 102-51 victory over Long Beach State on Saturday at the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, California.
Betts finished with 22 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, three steals and three blocks in 24 minutes for the Bruins, who improved to 10-0 (1-0 in Big Ten). The 6-foot-7 center was 10-of-15 from the field but struggled from the free-throw line, making only 2-of-5 shots.
Betts scored her first four points on a jumper and a layup inside the opening 79 seconds to put UCLA 7-0 ahead. The center would make another twinner from a pass by Londynn Jones, handing the Bruins a 25-8 advantage.
In the second quarter, the 21-year-old Stanford transfer picked up two blocks, one rebound and an assist for the Cori Close-mentored squad, who continued to pile up the points while limiting the Beach to 11 points in the opening 15 minutes. Betts made another layup off Janiah Barker's dime.
Betts scored eight points in the third quarter on two layups, two free throws and a jumper. She also picked up three rebounds, one assist and two steals, helping UCLA build a 80-35 advantage at the end of the quarter.
The center scored six points more on two layups and a jumper and added a defensive rebound before she sat on the bench late on for a well-deserved rest.

Lauren Betts and Andrea Dugalic solidified their claim as the best frontcourt duo in the nation, combining for 44 points and 18 rebounds to lead No. 1-ranked UCLA past Long Beach State.
Betts poured in 22 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, three steals and three blocks for another impressive all-around performance. Dugalic also had 22 points but had eight rebounds, six assists and two steals.
The 6-foot-4 senior shot 9-of-12 from the field, including 2-of-2 from deep, plus two free throws in 29 minutes for the Bruins, who claimed their 10th straight win of the season. Janiah Barker came up with a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds, shooting 9-of-10 from the field, while Gabriela Jaquez and Kiki Rice added 17 and 12 points, respectively.
Jada Crawshaw led Long Beach State (5-4, 2-0 in Big West) with 19 points, making 9-of-18 shots, including 1-of-5 from 3-pointers.
UCLA used their height advantage to shoot 55.7% from the field and limited Long Beach State to 35.6%. The Bruins had a distinct advantage in rebounds (51-22), assists (30-11), steals (14-9) and blocks (3-0).
They ruled the inside points (66-22) and fast breaks (13-2) and led by as much as 51 points to secure the win.
