Earlier on Friday, the official LSU Athletics Instagram page posted the five student-athletes who were recognized by Forbes in the last two years. The selected five include basketball standouts Flau'jae Johnson and Angel Reese, pole vaulting Olympic gold medalist Mondo Duplantis, track and field star Sha'carri Richardson, and gymnastics sensation Olivia Dunne.
Collectively, they were a part of the 30 under 30 list in 2023 and 2024, while some were selected for the Top Creators list. Check out the full breakdown here:
On the post itself, both Dunne and Johnson reacted to the selection in the comment section which has garnered engagement from fans.
"4orbes," Johnson wrote.
"Let's freaking geaux," Dunne posted.
The LSU faithful have also poured out their support of their note-worthy athletes, both current and alumni, including Oliva Dunne's mom, Kat Dunne:
"Tiger power!!"
With the multitude of LSU representatives on the esteemed list, it just goes to show what kind of athletics program LSU possesses. The Tigers continue to grow as one of the most sought-after universities for sports in the United States.
As for its college basketball program, Johnson is one of the budding stars of a team that last won the championship in 2023. This was when they had WNBA player Angel Reese in what was a dominant run for the squad.
Now, the Tigers hold an undefeated 11-0 record to start the season. They have the chance to extend their win streak to 12 on Sunday, Dec. 15, against the Louisiana-Lafayetter Ragin' Cajuns on their home court.
LSU's Flau'jae Johnson is a star on and off the court
Being one of the most integral pieces of the 2024-2025 Tigers, Flau'jae Johnson is averaging 22.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.0 blocks. Her one-two punch with sophomore Mikaylah Williams has helped uncork the perfect standing thus far.
Off the court, Flau'jae Johnson is one of the most high-valued NIL athletes in college women's basketball. Johnson has an NIL value of $1.5 million, as per On3. She has signed with brands such as Puma and Powerade. Johnson is also a hip-hop artist on the side, having collaborated already with rap heavyweights such as Lil' Wayne and NLE Choppa.
