USC Trojans women's basketball head coach, Lindsay Gottlieb, has reportedly extended her contract with the program until 2030. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported the news of her contract extension on X (formerly Twitter).
The announcement of Gottlieb's return excited the USC fans, who took to X to react.
"Lindsay is world class!" said one fan.
"She get one good recruit and they go CRAZY," said another.
"JuJu Effect," one fan said.
Some fans thought that Gottlieb was the right woman for the job and deserved it.
"The right woman for the job," stated one fan.
"Well deserved," said another.
"That's a good development, Win win for both," wrote another fan.
Under Gottlieb, the USC Trojans won the Pac-12 tournament title in 2024. She was also a Pac-12 Coach of the Year by the media in 2013 when she led California to the Final Four of the NCAA Regional championship. In 2009, she was the Big West Coach of the Year with UC Santa Barbara.
USC concluded the 2023-24 season in second position in Pac-12. They had a conference record of 13-5 and an overall record of 29-6.
Gottlieb's star performer throughout the season was JuJu Watkins. Watkins averaged 27.1 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game and was the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year. She also made it to the Pac-12 All-Defensive team and will be the face of USC next season.

Lindsay Gottlieb had an amazing record with California, taking the team to seven NCAA tournaments in eight seasons. The USC Trojans were not seeded in the NCAA tournament since their last appearance in 2014 before Lindsay Gottlieb.
In 2021, Gottlieb became the USC Trojans' HC. In 2023, she led USC to their first NCAA appearance since 2014 but lost in the first round. Lindsay guided the program to another NCAA tournament in 2024, where USC made a run until the Elite Eight.
