The Tigers' competition gained national attention, as showcased fans dressed in sparkling, eye-catching outfits inspired by the iconic coach. A little girl’s Mulkey-inspired attire dazzled everyone and earned her the grand prize, which was one of the coach's game-worn jackets.
The official Instagram page of LSU Women's Basketball posted a series of pictures, which showcased the fans who dressed up like the coach. The team invited the fans onto the court to display their outfits.
LSU player Last-Tear Poa re-shared the picture of the young fan showing off her walk on the floor, to her story with the caption:
"I love it 🥰😂."
Kim Mulkey’s unique outfit takes the spotlight
While fans brought their best Mulkey-inspired outfits, the head coach ensured she made her style statement. For LSU’s game against Auburn, Mulkey wore a black shirt decorated with a basketball hoop and rim, pairing it with vibrant red pants and striking heels. Her bold ensemble drew attention as LSU secured a 73-66 victory.
Mulkey’s outfit quickly became a topic of discussion on social media. Some fans praised her creativity and ability to consistently surprise, while others expressed more reserved opinions about the look.
Meanwhile, Mulkey’s presence extends to the airwaves with the return of The Kim Mulkey Show. The program will debut its new season at TJ Ribs on Acadian Thruway, airing live every Tuesday at 7 p.m. CT. This one-hour show features Mulkey alongside play-by-play announcer Patrick Wright, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the LSU women’s basketball program.
A new addition this season is the inclusion of guest appearances from head coaches of other LSU women’s sports. The inaugural guest, LSU Gymnastics coach Jay Clark, will join Mulkey for a segment, adding a fresh and engaging dynamic to the show.
