Whether with a mic or a basketball, LSU star Flau'jae Johnson never disappoints. Despite a vigorous basketball career, she hasn't shied away from her second passion: rapping. She dropped a new track titled "Came Out A Beast" with star rapper Lil Wayne three days ago. The single is part of her new album, "Best of Both Worlds".

The SEC Freshman of the Year 2023 is all set to perform and will grab the mic at the Boardroom X Coinbase WNBA All-Star party.

Following in her father's footsteps as a rapper, Flau'jae Johnson also has a deal with Roc Nation and made appearances on famous shows like "The Rap Game" and "America's Got Talent."

Being the 2023 NCAA title winner with LSU, Johnson's journey was not all smooth sails. Some fans blamed her music for occasional poor performances on the court, which made it difficult to juggle both her passions. In an interview on "Same Time Funky" on Friday, Johnson told Cam Newton:

"I sacrifice too for my family. And that's one of the big things that hurt me a lot because I got four little brothers. They like four or five, six. I sacrificed my time trying to pursue both, and so I know now that as I get more up in the ranks. I realize there are more resources that can help me."

Flau'jae Johnson will be returning to LSU for at least another season before transitioning to the WNBA. Last season, she averaged 14.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game while shooting 50.4% from the field and 38% from beyond the arc. Despite her success on the stage and the court, she told Newton:

"The ball ain't going to bounce forever like the ball going to go flat on day, and so you always want to have different ways to pivot. So maybe the music might outlast the basketball."

Flau'jae Johnson always knew that she wanted to be a rapper

Flau'jae Johnson was 12 years old when she made her debut on Lifetime's "The Rap Game." She didn't stop there as she made it to the quarter-finals of "America's Got Talent" at 14, where she was awarded the Golden Buzzer during her audition. Talking about her journey in the interview with Cam Newton, she said:

"Savannah, you know, it's a small city and my mama, she really liked seeing the vision. Like, I knew I wanted to be a rapper because my dad was a rapper. But then I actually got good at it. Like, you know what I'm saying and I really made it a career."

Flau'jae Johnson later discovered that she was good at basketball as well, but did not give up on either passion.
