LSU forward Aneesah Morrow has highlighted coach Kim Mulkey's intensity during practices and her daily energy as factors that make her an exceptional mentor. Morrow explained how, despite her quiet demeanor, she has improved under Mulkey's guidance.
In an appearance on the LSU Tigers Podcast, Aneesah Morrow praised the coach for the way she engages with her and supports the team, even though she described herself as "kind of quiet."
Speaking about the moment she experienced Mulkey's intensity as a coach, Morrow said:
"Her intensity in practice, that's kind of every day. So from the first day of practice, you just get used to it. Being the type of player that I am, I'm kind of quiet, and coach knew that, so we just tried to gauge each other."
And on Mulkey's energy, she added:
"She's an All-American. She's a Hall of Famer. She's done it all, so you want to listen to her. She comes in with this great energy every day, she's always trying to uplift you and tell you what you could do better."
Mulkey's illustrious basketball career spans over four decades, and it’s one of the reasons why players like Morrow have such high praise for her.
"She's very good at teaching and just staying in the moment," Morrow said.
