Notre Dame guard Hannah Hidalgo has been electrifying on the court this season, as she averaged 24.6 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. The athlete has become a cornerstone of the No. 8 Fighting Irish.
Hidalgo's versatility, helped her team secure an impressive 12-2 record this season. Hidalgo’s impact extends beyond the basketball court, with her growing presence in the NIL (Name, Image and Likeness) space demonstrating her ability to leverage her talent into a broader platform.
In early December 2024, Hidalgo announced a partnership with energy drink giant Red Bull. This deal places her among an elite group of athletes that includes LSU’s Mikaylah Williams, South Carolina’s MiLaysia Fulwiley, and top basketball recruit AJ Dybantsa, who recently committed to BYU.
This brings her to share a post on Instagram showcasing a series of pictures promoting the brand.
She captioned the pictures:
"New year, new wiiings: @redbullusa"
Hidalgo’s Notre Dame teammates and notable figures like Marina Mabrey’s sister, Michaela Mabrey commented under the post.
Michaela Mabrey, Notre Dame's assistant coach, replied with a trio of emojis:
"😍😍😍"
"Aw it you actually look so pretty !!" Kylee Watson said.
"A guard I want my G babies modeling the games after!!" one fan said.
"My favorite hooper!!!" another comment read.
"Sky’s the limit," Red Bull USA replied.
"Player of the year," another fan wrote.
"5’6 but the biggest DAWG in the country. Argue with your mama," another fan added.
In the pictures, she posed in a sky-blue floral co-ord set paired with a white tee and silver accessories. Alongside her outfit, she showcased two caps bearing the Red Bull logo.
Hannah Hidalgo is building a strong NIL portfolio
Hidalgo’s collaboration with Red Bull is just one of many impressive endorsements. Represented by CAA, she has established a robust NIL portfolio that includes partnerships with VKTRY, New Era, Topps, and Aloft South Bend.
During her freshman year, she collected numerous honors, including AP All-America First Team, the Dawn Staley Award, ACC Defensive Player of the Year, ACC Rookie of the Year and ACC Tournament MVP.
Hidalgo’s standout performances have earned her recognition from some of basketball’s biggest names. NBA legend Dwyane Wade attended Notre Dame’s Dec. 12 game last month against UConn. Despite being a fan of UConn’s Paige Bueckers, Wade couldn’t help but admire Hidalgo’s game.
Wade said:
"She’s like [5-foot-6] and she’s a dog. Averages like seven rebounds a game type dog. And when we say dog in hoops, that means something. This is a hoop term. We talking in hoop terms. It’s just straight hooper’s dog."
In Notre Dame’s 79-68 victory over UConn, Hidalgo scored 29 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
This season, the Fighting Irish have secured key wins over top programs like USC, Texas, UConn, and North Carolina, with Hidalgo’s performance consistently making the difference.
