Sarah Strong shares her comments on UConn journey
Sarah Strong, the No. 1 recruit in the 2024 class, came with heavy expectations and has so far delivered. In just 11 games with the Huskies, the forward has quickly adapted herself to the UConn style and is leading the team, averaging 17.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.2 steals.
After Tuesday's win, Strong commented on her short time with the team and the college basketball experience.
"Yeah, it's definitely been challenging. It's not easy," Strong said. "It's a huge adjustment from high school. The pace and just the physicality, and just playing a new role on a new team with new teammates, has also been an adjustment."
Meanwhile, UConn coach Geno Auriemma praised the forward, saying:
"I think she plays instinctively, plays with whatever the game gives her. I don't think she tries to force something to happen that isn't there. I'm not saying she's perfect ... she had just scratched the surface of what she can do."
The Huskies next face the USC Trojans in a battle of the titans, as both teams are the strongest contenders for the national championship this season.
