Hanna Cavinder reveals why she loves playing basketball
Hanna Cavinder and her twin sister, Haley, are successful social media influencers, with over 4.5 million followers on TikTok and over 300,000 followers on their shared Instagram page. However, they have made it clear that their number one priority is playing basketball.
The Cavinder twins began their collegiate basketball career at Fresno State, where they played for three seasons before transferring to Miami. Now, in their final season with the Hurricanes, they have played every game together, establishing themselves as a package deal.
"We've always played the sport (basketball) together," Hanna said per Just Women's Sports in March 2023. "That's why I love basketball, is playing with Haley."
The twins are known to be talented and fiercely competitive, with Haley averaging 17.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists on 45.6 percent shooting. Meanwhile, Hanna averages 7.6 points, 2.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists on 49.5 percent shooting. When they are on the court, they embrace every moment.
"I'll never take it for granted," Hanna continued. "Playing with your twin sister is obviously a unique situation, so whenever we get on the court together, we try to optimize it as best as we can."
The Cavinder twins have endured four straight losses with the Canes, with the last being the 83-79 defeat to Boston College on Saturday, Jan. 17. However, they hope to bounce back to their winning ways as Miami faces Florida State on Sunday, Jan. 19.
