MiLaysia Fulwiley and Raven Johnson have developed chemistry as teammates on the South Carolina women's basketball team. The former received praise from Johnson after making an impressive bucket.

On Sunday, the Gamecocks hosted the Oklahoma Sooners at the Colonial Life Arena. They dominated the matchup, defending homecourt with a convincing 101-60 victory.

One highlight featured Fulwiley on the transition. With less than a minute left in the first quarter, she ran the fastbreak as she took flight in the air to convert the layup in smooth fashion.

Johnson first reacted to the highlight, using three words to praise her teammate.

"Take flight, Fulwiley," Johnson said.
"Point god," Fulwiley responded humbly.

MiLaysia Fulwiley-led South Carolina retain place in new AP Top 25 poll

It was a strong win for MiLaysia Fulwiley and the Gamecocks, blowing out an opponent that was nationally ranked.

South Carolina had a balanced attack, seeing five players score in double-digits. Joyce Edwards led the way with 17 points and four rebounds. Fulwiley put up 15 points and seven assists, while Tessa Johnson provided 13 points and five assists. Sania Feagin had 12 points and seven rebounds, and Te-Hina Paopao finished with 11 points.

The Gamecocks' defense limited Oklahoma's effectiveness on offense. They held the Sooners to 36% shooting from the field and 25% from beyond the arc, recording 17 stocks (steals and blocks) as their opponents had no answer.

With the victory, they improved their record to 18-1 overall, including 6-0 in conference play. They continue to cruise with an ongoing win streak of 13 consecutive games. This momentum helped them keep their place in the AP Top 25.

The Associated Press revealed the new rankings on Monday, with the Gamecocks maintaining their standing at the second spot. The only team above them continues to be the UCLA Bruins, who gave them their lone loss of the season.

Fulwiley and the No. 2 Gamecocks will prepare for a heavyweight matchup against the No. 5 LSU Tigers at the Colonial Life Arena on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET.
