Flau'jae Johnson and the LSU Tigers returned to the top five in the latest AP Top 25 poll on Monday.
The top four teams stayed the same, with No. 1 UCLA (16-0), No. 2 South Carolina (16-1), No. 3 Notre Dame (14-2) and No. 4 Southern California (16-1). LSU moved up to No. 5 after improving their record to 18-0 with an 89-87 victory over then-No. 16 Tennessee on Thursday.
This marks a return to near-peak rankings for Kim Mulkey’s Tigers, who were ranked as high as No. 4 earlier this season. UConn (15-2) also moved up to No. 6, while Texas (16-2) slipped to No. 7 following a loss to South Carolina in SEC play. The rest of the top 10 includes Maryland (15-1), Ohio State (16-0) and TCU (17-1).
Minnesota and Oklahoma State joined the rankings this week, sharing the No. 24 spot, while Iowa and Michigan dropped out of the Top 25.
