Kiyan Anthony made his mom, La La Anthony, proud on Sunday after he was named the MVP in the Hoophall Classic. The Syracuse signee scored a game-high 17 points to lead Long Island Lutheran to a 63-57 win over AZ Compass Prep at Blake Arena in Springfield College.

Anthony shot 5-for-10 from the field, including 1-of-4 from beyond the arc. He was automatic at the charity stripe, draining all six of his free-throw attempts. He also had one rebound and one block in 24 minutes of action. Carmelo Anthony joined La La Anthony in the stands as they watched their son get crowned MVP.

La La Anthony celebrated her son's achievement by posting a series of snaps and videos of Kiyan Anthony's MVP win on her Instagram stories. The clips featured the Long Island Lutheran star holding a postgame interview and the family congratulating him after the contest. They shouted MVP as the teen phenom entered the room with his award.

It wasn't just Kiyan Anthony who wreaked havoc against the AZ Compass Prep defense as two other players scored in double figures for Long Island Lutheran. Dylan Mingo came close to recording a double-double, scoring 15 points and grabbing eight rebounds. He shot 4-of-11 from the field and 7-of-9 from the free-throw line.

MJ Madison also contributed, recording 10 points, five rebounds, two assists and two blocks. He made all four of his field-goal attempts and went 2-for-2 at the charity stripe.

Kiyan Anthony signs with Syracuse to follow in his famous father's footsteps

Kiyan Anthony, whose NIL value is worth $1.1 million per On3, grabbed the headlines in November when he revealed that he would be signing with Syracuse. The high school basketball star made the announcement on "7PM in Brooklyn", with Carmelo Anthony and La La Anthony joining him for the grand reveal.

Both parents were emotional as their son finally made his college choice. Kiyan Anthony's choice of Syracuse was not a surprise, as his famous father had played there before becoming professional. Carmelo Anthony joined the Orange in the 2002-03 NCAA season, leading them to their first-ever national championship.

Carmelo Anthony averaged 22.2 points and 10.0 rebounds in his freshman season with Syracuse. He ended his college career with a bang, scoring 21 points in the Orangemen's 81-78 win over the Kansas Jayhawks in the championship game.
