On Father's Day on Sunday, Auburn coach Bruce Pearl had some emotional words to say about his dad, Bernie Pearl. He died in August at the age of 88.

Pearl posted a note about his father's work ethic and providing for his family on X:

"My dad worked six days a week every day of his life," Pearl wrote. "I grew up not knowing that Saturday was a day off. I understood from a very young age the meaning of hard work. He was loyal and loved his family. His hobby was loving his family. To the very best of his ability. My dad made time for me and our family."

When Pearl won the Southeastern Conference Tournament with an 86-67 win over Florida in March, he got emotional and shed some tears.

"I lost my dad in August," Smith said. "He was my biggest fan. This is for these kids, but how about the way Auburn showed up today? But for me, I gotta thank my father. That's why I'm so emotional. I wish he was here."

Bruce Pearl's son, Steven, continues the family legacy

The coach of Auburn University since 2014, Bruce Pearl is one of college basketball's best coaches. His son, Steven Pearl, has continued his legacy, having been with the program for 10 years.

Steven was named one of the 50 most impactful high-major assistant coaches in Division I basketball by the Silver Waves Media. He was promoted to associate head coach on Aug. 1.

Steven spent the years 2015-17 as the director of basketball operations after completing a year as the assistant strength and conditioning coach.

The father-son duo have been doing well at Auburn.

Do you think Steven Pearl will take the throne from Bruce Pearl as the head coach of Auburn University?
