La La Anthony shared a video of her sharing a warm hug with her son, Kiyan Anthony, via her Instagram story on Friday. The TV actress has been busy this holiday season as she spread joy with her annual Winter Wonderland charity event and spent time with the inmates at Rikers Island, through her program, "ThreeSixty."
With the video of her hug with Kiyan, La La added a sticker that read:
"My happy place."
She also shared another story of the two snapping selfies, making funny faces and smiling away.
La La and Kiyan Anthony share a close bond, and the young guard even got a tattoo of her face on his left forearm in her honor. He added one line with the photo:
“You continuously put me before yourself.”
During his appearance on former LSU star Angel Reese's podcast, "Unapologetically Angel," Anthony explained his tattoo, saying:
“The concept was like giving thanks to my mom. The tattoo artist found a picture, and then I wrote the quote."
Kiyan Anthony prepares for his upcoming college journey
Anthony is a senior at Long Island Lutheran High School in New York and is preparing to transition to college next year. He has chosen to follow in his father, Carmelo Anthony's footsteps and will play for the Syracuse Orange.
"I feel like a part of it was obviously the connection that my dad went there, but mostly just how they could see me fitting in there and recruiting me for myself and not just who he was," Kiyan said about his decision.
"He did big things there, but I’m my own player and I’m trying to do bigger things when it comes to basketball. So I feel like I made a good choice and I’m happy that the coaching staff has accepted me and the campus as a whole has accepted me. They’re ready for me to come in there and play."
Carmelo Anthony led the Orange to their only national championship during his lone season run with the team in 2003. With his decision, Kiyan Anthony is also expected to do the same.
Syracuse was one of the six final choices, and the 6-foot-5 guard had to pick between the Orange and the USC Trojans in the end. Ultimately, he chose Syracuse as it was the best fit for him.
