"My wife's hot": Louisville HC Pat Kelsey boasts about "good life" after being asked about tough schedule

Louisville Cardinals coach Pat Kelsey gave an interesting answer when asked about his team's tough schedule. Speaking to the media, Kelsey spoke about all the good things in his life.

Asked about how emotionally draining it is to play Duke and Kentucky, as well as a strong UTEP team, Kelsey shared all the things that he loves about this life, and how playing and coaching college basketball is a privilege and not a burden.

"We get a bunch of free sneakers, I wear sweatsuits to work... my kids are healthy, my wife's hot. I got a pretty good life!" Kelsey said.

"We get to play college basketball, we get to play in the Yum! Centre, we get to get ready for Utah. My dad used to say it all the time, like, I would say to him 'dad, you gotta go to work today?' he said, 'son, I get to go to work today'."

Pat Kelsey and the Louisville Cardinals ended a three-game losing streak with a victory over UTEP on Wednesday night (Dec. 11). Their third loss on the trot was against the then-No.9 Blue Devils, and things won't get any easier this weekend when they come up against No. 5 Kentucky.

At the same press conference, Kelsey acknowledged the difficulty of their recent schedule but expressed pride in the team’s resilience.

“The schedule has been tough, and we’ve faced some challenges, but the players have been incredible,” he said. “The process is what matters, and the results will follow.”

Terrence Edwards Jr. led the way against UTEP with 22 points during the game, helping Louisville secure the much-needed win before their highly anticipated clash with the Wildcats on Saturday, Dec. 14.

The Cardinals hold a 6-4 record under Pat Kelsey, who took over as head coach earlier this year. They head to Tallahassee next, after Kentucky, to take on Florida State on Dec. 21, before returning home after Christmas to take on Eastern Kentucky on Dec. 28.
