Ta'Niya Latson and the Florida State Seminoles extended their winning streak to three games with an 86-84 victory over the North Carolina Tar Heels at Carmichael Arena on Sunday. Latson sealed the Seminoles' victory in dramatic fashion, scoring a buzzer-beating layup to record their first win against a ranked team this season.
Latson got the inbound pass with 3.5 seconds left and the game tied at 84. She immediately faked a shot attempt, causing two North Carolina defenders to jump. Latson ran past them as their feet left the ground, executing an up-and-under move as time expired to hand Florida State its 16th win of the season.

It wasn't just Ta'Niya Latson who punished the North Carolina defense. Sydney Bowles also wreaked havoc against the Tar Heels, scoring 18 points in 28 minutes. She stood out from beyond the arc, shooting 6-of-9.
Bowles' biggest basket came with 7.2 seconds left when she drained a long 3-pointer to give Florida State an 84-82 lead. The Tar Heels answered right back, with Re'Niya Kelly scoring an equalizer through a layup.
Latson took matters into her own hands after that, showing the world why she is one of the best players in women's college basketball today. She leads the nation in scoring, averaging 26.5 points through 19 games.
