Former Kentucky star Rob Dillingham decided to enter the 2024 NBA draft after playing one season of college basketball with the Wildcats. He is projected to be a top-10 pick in the draft.

In an interview with NBA insider Shams Charania two days before the draft, Dillingham talked about his time in Kentucky and shared a heartwarming story about buying a new house for his mother and sister.

"Really, I ain't got the full experience of seeing how she feels when she actually gets in the house. But I'm already knowing like about how she texted me and stuff. She's just a happy, happy camper right now," Dillingham said.
"And it's just a blessing because I know where I come from and I know just little things and being able to buy my mother a house and my sister and her kids. It's just a blessing cause you never would think you could do that someday."

Coming off high school, Rob Dillingham joined the Overtime Cold Hearts in OTE and spent a year at Kentucky, where he demonstrated his offensive skills by averaging 15.2 points per game and shooting an impressive 44.4% from three-point range.

His quick movement with the ball and unique dribbling techniques made it easy for him to score whenever he wanted.

Rob Dillingham, a 6-foot-3 point guard, also mentioned the role his family has played in his journey to this stage of his life in the interview with Shams Charania.

"It's played the biggest role because without family, without struggles, you don't really have no motivation and that be the problem with a lot of dudes," Dillingham said.
"And I feel like, with my family, we've been through so much, it just pushes me to keep wanting to go and provide for them and help for our family so they've been one of the biggest helps."

The 2024 NBA draft's first round starts at 8:00 p.m. ET this Wednesday at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Born and raised in Hickory, North Carolina, Dillingham stepped foot on his basketball career at Combine Academy in Lincolnton, North Carolina. For his junior year, he enrolled at Donda Academy in Simi Valley, California and was founded by singer/rapper Kanye West.
