Nike's latest A'ja Wilson logo draws reaction from South Carolina HC Dawn Staley: "I guess we all are going to be shining"

Dawn Staley is a proud head coach to have guided several talented women's basketball stars. One of the players, A'ja Wilson, who recently signed a shoe deal with Nike, also unveiled a personalized logo.

The WNBA star worked with Nike to create a star-shaped signature logo that was inspired by her unique style, "incredible performance, and unapologetic realness."

The company said:

"Coincidentally, she always drew a star in the 'A' of her signature, which is accentuated in her logo in an energetic and playful way. The bast shape of the logo incorporates strong, bold lines, symbolizing the strength and support she brings to her team. Design doesn't get more genuine to A'ja than this."

To celebrate A'ja Wilson's signature logo, her former head coach, Dawn Staley, proudly wrote a special message for on X.

"The [A'ja Wilson] LOGO! EYE LOVE IT! I guess we all are going to be SHINING!!"

Wilson was a former national champ with the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Most Outstanding Player of the 2017 NCAA Tournament.

Not only did Staley hype up A'ja Wilson's logo news, but she was also highly supportive of the shoe line that was announced in May.

South Carolina HC Dawn Staley often engages in friendly banter with her former players and lately A'ja Wilson has been her target.

Dawn Staley replied to a fan-edited video and challenged the WNBA champion to make a dunk while also plucking a painful nerve. She wrote:

"Aaayeeeee [Aj'a Wilson] can you still do this?!! I know you can but let me see you turn that thing over on them….might as well you’re doing everything else. But I mean you might avoid getting a 5th place MVP vote this year if you don’t."

The "5th place MVP" jibe was to address the fourth-place vote Wilson received for MVP last year as she finished the season behind Alyssa Thomas and Breanna Stewart, who won the award.
