Cooper Flagg's twin brother Ace Flagg made headlines on Tuesday after he announced his commitment to the University of Maine. The younger Flagg then enjoyed a memorable showing in North Carolina this weekend, drawing reactions from fans online.

Slam HS shared an Instagram post showcasing Ace's highlight reel from his debut game in a Greensboro Day school shirt. He transferred to Greensboro, North Carolina from Florida's Montverde Academy this summer.

"Fresh off his commitment to Maine, Ace Flagg was getting buckets in NC today," the post read.

Greensboro Day played two scrimmage matchups at Rise Indoor Sports Arena against West Charlotte and Berean Baptist, where Ace showed off his skills, coming off just a few days after making his college call.

Basketball fans flooded the comments section with mixed reactions, with many drawing comparisons to his brother, five-star phenom Cooper Flagg.

"NOTHING Like Cooper, one fan wrote adding a facepalming emoji.
"he’s p**p, stop hyping him up, show me his made hoops games in pa," another one criticized Ace.
"Might be the next Giannis and Thanasis," a fan compared Cooper and Ace to the NBA brothers duo Giannis and Thanasis Antetokounmpo, suggesting Ace will not succeed and live under Cooper's shadow.
"I would pay to see a highlight of ace dunking the ball in a game," one user wrote.

On the other hand, some fans were optimistic and confident that Ace could do well.

"He can play. Should be a great college player," one fan commented.
"bro lowkey better then coop," another added.

Ace Flagg reveals why he chose to return to home state of Maine

Ace Flagg and his brother Cooper Flagg attended Montverde Academy in Florida after their freshman high school year at Nokomis Regional High in Newport, Maine.

After two seasons in Montverde, Cooper committed to Duke. Meanwhile, Ace opted to move back to Maine, where he committed to play for the Black Bears.

"The state of Maine itself, it's such a special place. You don't really find a place like that anywhere else," Ace said of his homecoming decision to the Pine Tree State.
"Especially since I moved away from Maine, it makes you appreciate it so much more. Just the community, everyone there, the culture there, I mean it's just amazing and it means so much to me."

Ace Flagg will join the UMaine basketball team in the 2025-26 season. For this season, he will play his senior year at Greensboro Day. He could make his regular season debut on Nov. 6 against Oak Ridge Military Academy.
