Edwards is a Canadian professional basketball player for the Washington Mystics of the WNBA. A standout at UConn, she was selected sixth overall in the 2024 WNBA draft.

Fudd’s determination and skill continue to make her a pivotal player for the Huskies as she progresses in her senior season. On the other hand, Arnold has appeared in 12 games this season, averaging 4.2 points, on 45.1% shooting, along with 2.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.

UConn’s Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd Put in work over the holidays

UConn stars Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd made the most of their holiday break, proving that even during time off, champions never stop grinding.

While the Huskies had an eight-day gap between their 72-70 loss to the USC Trojans on Dec. 21 and their next game, Bueckers and Fudd fine-tuned their skills back home in Potomac, Maryland.

A video posted on Thursday by Darren McLinton, a skills coach and CEO of McLinton Basketball Academy, showed the dynamic duo hard at work in a high school gym.

The footage highlighted Bueckers and Fudd as they worked on dribbling drills and outside shooting, demonstrating the precision and intensity that have made them two of the most formidable guards in women’s college basketball.

Despite the holiday break, their determination to stay sharp shows their commitment to leading UConn through the challenging Big East schedule and toward their ultimate goal of the 2025 NCAA national championship.

Huskies coach Geno Auriemma had reportedly allowed the team a few days off to visit their families; but for Bueckers and Fudd, the holiday season didn’t mean taking a break from basketball.

The display by Bueckers and Fudd over the holidays may be exactly the spark the team needs to regain momentum. Their relentless work ethic sets the tone for the entire roster, reminding everyone that great teams are built on preparation and perseverance, even during the festive season.

With the Big East competition heating up, all eyes will be on Bueckers and Fudd to see if their holiday hustle translates to success on the court. One thing is certain: these two are leaving nothing to chance.

Bueckers, Fudd, Kamorea Arnold and the No. 7-ranked UConn Huskies will be back in action on Sunday when they face Providence at 1:30 p.m. ET.
