Duke Blue Devils center Kyle Filipowski has been enjoying the offseason after declaring for the 2024 NBA draft, spending quality time with his fiancee, Caitlin Hutchison. The couple recently went on a picnic date.
In the small video posted by Hutchison, they enjoyed salads together on a sunflower-patterned blanket. Filipowski re-shared the moment on his Instagram on Sunday.
Filipowski and Hutchison were also accompanied by their dog, who indulged in some picnic treats. Filipowski was smiling in the video, captured by Hutchison, who captioned the story:
"Obsessed with my boys, food and grass@kyleflip."
On April 18, the duo announced their engagement on Instagram, with the post featuring black-and-white photos of them side by side. The news generated a lot of buzz as the couple received many congratulatory comments on Instagram.
Kyle Filipowski sets sights on NBA after college success
Duke Blue Devils standout Kyle Filipowski wasted no time in declaring for the 2024 NBA draft. The announcement came after a run in the NCAA Tournament that ended in a loss to NC State in the Elite Eight.
Filipowski had established himself as Duke's leading scorer and rebounder throughout his two seasons. He expressed his gratitude to the university and its passionate fanbase.
"After careful consideration and consultation with the people closest to me, I have decided to declare for the NBA draft," Fillipowski said. "This has been a lifelong dream of mine, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to pursue it. Thank you Duke Nation."
He thanked Duke Nation for the cheers, online following and positive energy, highlighting the impact it's had on his journey.
"Your unwavering encouragement and belief in me have fueled my determination to reach this point," Fillipowski said. "Whether you've cheered for me from the stands, followed my career online, or simply sent positive vibes my way, please know that your support has meant the world to me."
Kyle Filipowski averaged 15.1 points and 8.9 rebounds during his freshman year. He continued to refine his game in his sophomore season, averaging 16.4 points and 8.3 rebounds while chipping in with more assists, blocks and steals.
Filipowski's impressive collegiate career now paves the way for him to chase his dream of playing in the NBA.
