Kate Martin and Gabbie Marshall spent five successful years with the Iowa Hawkeyes and reached the championship game twice. Since their last game together in April, the two players have gone their separate ways, with Martin in the WNBA and Marshall retiring from playing basketball.
Enjoying her time away from the court, Gabbie indulged in a bit of self-care and documented herself getting her nails done on her TikTok:
"Needed my nails done real bad #nails #nailtransformation," she wrote.
Kate Martin commented on the video:
"Okay cutie."

Martin was one of the 2024 WNBA draft's biggest surprises, as very few expected her to be picked. The Las Vegas Aces guard, along with Marshall, had accompanied No. 1 pick Caitlin Clark and was eventually selected at No. 18 by the defending champions.
Kate Martin returns to Iowa and inspires the Hawkeyes
Kate Martin began her college career a year late due to a torn ACL in the summer before her freshman season. She used this to fuel her time with the Hawkeyes and was a part of some of the most historic seasons Iowa women's basketball has ever seen.
Martin was one of the key players in Iowa's run to the NCAA title games along with Gabbie Marshall and Caitlin Clark. Now, as an alum, the Aces guard returned to the Carver-Hawkeye Arena to cheer on the team preparing for the upcoming season.
"I keep thinking, why not just go all in?," she said. "Our first Final Four, we had the mantra of 'Why Not Us.' It's like, why not show up every single day and work your a** off and see what can happen? What's the worst that's going to happen? Why not come in and get extra shots up and be the best teammate that you can possibly be and see where your life is going to take you?"
"Have the mindset of, 'Why Not?' Why can't you guys go back to the final four? Why can't you guys win the Big 10 Championship again? Don't put any limitations on who you can be and where you guys can go because that's bullsh**. Go have fun and just be the best teammate you can be. I think this year is going to be great."
During her time with the Hawkeyes, Kate Martin averaged 8.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists. Now in the WNBA, she averages 3.4 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists.
