The five NCAA WBB undefeated teams
LSU Tigers
LSU has started SEC play without a single loss. Their biggest win was against then-No. 20 NC State on Nov. 27. The road ahead won’t be easy, as they face No. 15 Tennessee on Thursday and No. 2 South Carolina on Jan. 23. These games will test how strong the Tigers really are.
Maryland Terrapins
Maryland’s offense is all about teamwork. Kaylene Smikle leads with 17.5 ppg, but the team’s real strength is its balance. Five players score in double digits and seven average more than seven points a game. This depth makes Maryland a tough opponent in the Big Ten.
UCLA Bruins
UCLA is having an unforgettable season. They earned the No. 1 spot in the NCAA WBB AP Top 25 for the first time and ended South Carolina’s 43-game winning streak with a big 77-62 win on Nov. 24. They have proven they are a team to watch.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
Georgia Tech has been a pleasant surprise this season. They’re off to their best start ever, with three wins over ranked teams. Dani Carnegie, Kara Dunn, and Tonie Morgan scored in double figures, and the team is ranked No. 8 nationally in assist-to-turnover ratio.
Ohio State Buckeyes
Ohio State came into the season as a team to watch and hasn’t disappointed. While their non-conference schedule wasn’t too tough, they stood out with an 83-74 win over then-No. 21 Illinois on Dec. 8 and a dominant 84-59 victory against Stanford on Dec. 20.
Staying undefeated in NCAA WBB is a rare and difficult feat. Last season, South Carolina proved just how hard it is by becoming only the 10th team in history to have a perfect season, finishing 38-0 and winning the national championship.
