Before Paige Bueckers, there was Breanna Stewart who was the clear standout in the last of UConn Huskies coach Geno Auriemma's great teams. She is a certified legend in Storrs after leading the Huskies to four consecutive national championship wins (2012-2016).

The two recently shared a moment courtside after Stewart registered 21 points, 11 rebounds and two assists in the New York Liberty's 75-71 win against the Las Vegas Aces.

The moment shared by the basketball stars with UConn roots culminated in a warm hug which was posted by an Instagram fan account.

Breanna Stewart considered UConn GOAT

Breanna Stewart proudly sits among the best basketball players to have ever played for the UConn Huskies including the likes of Maya Moore and Diana Taurasi. However, she is clear in terms of national championships won with the two other legends winning two and three respectively.

Stewart hit the ground running as a freshman as she led the Huskies to the national championship and three more to close out her career in Storrs. She achieved the distinction of being the only player, man or woman, to win four Most Outstanding Player awards.

She added three Naismith National Player of the Year awards to add gloss to an already impressive and unprecedented resume despite the caliber of players who have graced women's college basketball since then.

During an interview with ESPN in April 2016, storied UConn coach Geno Auriemma spoke about how the debate of who the greatest Huskies player ever would always play out pinpointing Moore and Taurasi and how Stewart compared to the duo.

"There's always going to be a tendency to try to put the three of them in some sort of holy trinity because of their talent and impact on the program," Auriemma said. "Stewie is so different than Maya and Diana, and yet when the game ends, you look up and say, 'That's the same kind of impact that Maya and Diana used to have.'"

Stewart finished her UConn career with a fourth national championship win where she registered 24 points, 10 rebounds and six assists in an 82-51 win against Syracuse before being picked No. 1 overall in the 2016 WNBA Draft by the Seattle Storm.

At the end of the day, Breanna Stewart has the resume to back up the claim that she is the greatest basketball player ever to have played for the UConn Huskies.
