Paige Bueckers and Kaitlyn Chen were instrumental on Wednesday in the No. 6 UConn Huskies' 100-point outburst against Villanova. Chen a transfer from Princeton, set a season-high with 17 points on 7-of-8 shooting as UConn cruised to a 43-point win.

On Wednesday on her Instagram story, Bueckers reposted UConnwbb's Instagram post highlighting Chen's big night, which included a picture of Chen from the game.

"Went crazy," Paige captioned her IG story.

Chen, who averaged 15.8 points per game last season at Princeton, has yet to find her full rhythm at UConn since transferring last summer. However, she showcased flashes of her scoring ability against the Wildcats.

In 20 games this season, Chen has only scored in double figures four times. However, teammate Bueckers seems confident that Chen will continue to find her footing.

"It's hard coming in here as a transfer, trying to find her way. [Kaitlyn] was a scorer at Princeton, and she facilitates a lot here," Bueckers said postgame. "But just to do a mixture of both, we want her to be aggressive.
We want her to look to score. It'll open up everything else, and it'll make teams guard her and guard everybody on the floor. So for her to continue to keep doing that, that's what we need from her."

Paige Bueckers, Kaitlyn Chen and Sarah Strong shine in Huskies' blowout win

The UConn Huskies defeated the Wildcats 100–57 on Wednesday at Gampel Pavilion, thanks to a standout performance from senior Paige Bueckers, Kaitlyn Chen and freshman Sarah Strong.

This was UConn's first 100-point game of the Big East season and only the second time the Huskies have crossed the century mark this campaign—the first coming in a 101–68 win over Iowa State on Dec. 17.

Against Villanova, Strong led UConn in scoring with her eighth 20-point performance of the season with a game-high 22 points. Bueckers followed closely behind with 21 points to go with eight rebounds and tying her season-high with nine assists. On the other hand, Chen had the best outing of the season with 17 points.

"We scored a lot of points because the ball went in and the ball went in because we made good decisions with the ball, where it was going, who was shooting it," Auriemma said postgame. "We're making a lot of great decisions right now. And that's going to pay off."

Paige Bueckers and Co. will look to continue their 8th-game winning streak when they take on Creighton on the road on Saturday.
