Paige Bueckers and Flau'jae Johnson are two of the biggest stars in college basketball, as well as the most commanding in NIL value with estimations of $1.5 million, according to On3. And it seems that a collaboration between the two is on the way.
On Thursday, Overtime made a post on Instagram featuring the two. In the video, Bueckers spoke with Johnson over the phone as she teased a major announcement involving the Unrivaled brand.
"Paige Bueckers here. The reason for the call today is something just came across my desk. It is perhaps the best thing I've seen in the past year. If you have 36 seconds, I'd like to share the campaign with you. Do you have 36 seconds? The name of the campaign is," Bueckers said before the clip intentionally cuts off.
Paige Bueckers recently revealed her first pair of Nike shoes
While Paige Bueckers' collaboration with Flau'jae Johnson of the LSU Tigers is new, this wasn't the only announcement that the UConn star had in the past week.
On Monday, Bueckers revealed the first pair of Nike shoes that'll be designed for her. Having many features on the shoes that relate to her identity and background, she'll be donning them throughout this season for the UConn Huskies as they will be made available to the public on Saturday.
"It’s definitely motivating to wear your own shoe," Bueckers said in the announcement video. "I grew up wearing Nikes — all the signature shoes — so it’s surreal to have this Player Edition model. I just want to show out in it.
"Blessed from the 612 (the Minneapolis area code) to the 860 (the Storrs, Connecticut, zip code) – my PE of the Nike GT Hustle 3 will be available on December 7. From the PB Bucket design to the text bubble from my dad to the colorway, every part of this shoe aligns with the player and person I am. Can’t wait for you to check it out."
Bueckers and No. 2 UConn (7-0) are coming off an 88-52 win over Holy Cross on Tuesday, awaiting their next matchup against No. 22 Louisville (5-3) at the Barclays Center on Dec. 7 at 9 p.m. ET.
As for Flau'jae Johnson, she will get set for the fifth-ranked Tigers' 9 p.m. ET tipoff against Stanford at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on Thursday.
