Following the duels of Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, some have viewed Paige Bueckers and JuJu Watkins as the next rivalry set to make waves. Even one basketball analyst sees the potential for them to become "true rivals."

Rachel DeMita uploaded a video on her YouTube channel on Monday. The main topic was of breaking down the marquee matchup between two of women's college basketball's top stars in Watkins and Bueckers.

She does not view the dynamic between Clark and Reese as a true rivalry, but sees the opposite for the UConn and USC standouts.

"When we talk about Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark having this rivalry, they're not truly rivals, because they don't get to guard each other. Paige and Juju are very similar in their position, I wouldn't say play style, but they play similar positions, and so they guarded one another," DeMita said.

JuJu Watkins' display against UConn earned her an award

JuJu Watkins had a marvelous display against the No. 4 Huskies, putting up a game-high 25 points, six rebounds, five assists and three blocks. She edged out Paige Bueckers in the scoring battle 25-22.

Her efforts were recognized by the Big Ten, as she won the Player of the Week for the second time this season. She continues to rack up individual awards, having also been named the AP National Player of the Week as she looks to lead the Trojans to another deep postseason run.

Her ability to score the ball at will has elevated the Trojans as one of the best offensive teams in the country. They boast an 11-1 record, averaging 85.1 points on 47.1% shooting from the field and 33.2% from beyond the arc.

After 12 games, Watkins is providing 24.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 2.4 steals and two blocks on 46.2% shooting overall and 36.5% from downtown. She is the team's undisputed leader in scoring, with the runner-up being Kiki Iriafen with 18.5 points and 9.3 rebounds per contest.

JuJu Watkins and the No. 4 Trojans will have one more matchup to close out 2024, hosting No. 23 Michigan at the Galen Center on Dec. 29 at 10 p.m. ET.
