Former and current UConn Huskies players Diana Taurasi and Paige Bueckers caught up with each other during the WNBA All-Star Weekend on Sunday. Taurasi was playing for Team USA, while Bueckers was in attendance to cheer from the sidelines.

Although Diana Taurasi last played at Storrs more than a decade ago, she still maintains good relationships with current players, as can be seen in this video shared by a fan on Instagram.

"UConn ties run deep🥺💙," the caption read.

Here are the glimpses from the WNBA All-Star night where these two players could be spotted hugging and spending time on the court.

During her time at UConn, Taurasi was one of the best players who led the Huskies to three straight NCAA tournament titles in 2002, 2003, and 2004. The two-time Naismith College Player of the Year was picked first overall in the 2004 WNBA draft and has won three championships with the Phoenix Mercury.

Although Paige Bueckers has yet to win a championship, she has all the chances of finally bagging one in the upcoming season.

Diana Taurasi highlights one trait that makes Paige Bueckers the best player in college basketball

In 2021, Paige Bueckers was a freshman at UConn and was already a phenom. She averaged 20 points, 4.9 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 2.3 steals.

Right after the regular season, Diana Taurasi declared in an interview with TOGETHXR that Bueckers was the best college player, despite it being her first season.

"The first game I watched her play, I watched the first quarter, and I told Penny.. And then, after the game, I text Coach Auriemma and I said, 'She's the best player in basketball already,'" Taurasi recalled. For the simple fact that she can pass.
"She makes really hard passes look really easy, and she makes really easy passes look easy. And that alone sets her apart from every other player in college," the veteran star added.

Diana Taurasi also reminisced about her time as a freshman and claimed that she was nowhere near as good as Paige Bueckers. In her first season at Storrs, Taurasi averaged 10.9 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists.

"Freshman Paige has got way more confidence than I did," she said. "I was in the doghouse. I was like the water girl. I was doing chores for the seniors. We were in way different boats. I wasn't even on the team really until everyone got hurt. And he was like, "You, come over here." And then, I was like, 'All right, I'll come in and play'
"But Paige, the level she's playing at right now, as a freshman. I mean, it's incredible. You don't play that efficiently and with that much confidence as a rookie, as a freshman, at Connecticut," she added.
