UConn guard Paige Bueckers failed to put up her usual numbers against Holy Cross, allowing her teammates to inflict most of the damage in the Huskies' 88-52 win over the Crusaders on Tuesday night at the Gampel Pavilion.

Bueckers finished with 11 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals in 28 minutes of action for the Geno Auriemma-coached squad, which improved to 7-0, including 4-0 at home.

The 6-foot guard from Hopkins, Minnesota, had a slow start, failing to score a point. However, she made up for it on the rebounding front, grabbing six defensive rebounds in the first quarter and adding an assist to Jana El Alfy.

Bueckers only had one field goal in the first half, a 3-pointer that gave UConn a 14-10 lead. She then passed the ball to Morgan Cheli, who buried a triple, pushing the lead to seven.

Her efforts capped a 13-0 surge between the first and second quarters, handing the Huskies a 19-10 lead. UConn held off a last-minute rally by Holy Cross to take a 33-27 advantage at halftime.

Bueckers continued to play the role of playmaker in the third quarter, recording two points, one rebound, three assists and two steals. Her lack of scoring didn't matter, as the Huskies gained a 57-39 advantage.

The UConn superstar eventually reached double figures, scoring six points on a layup, a free throw and a 3-pointer before going to the bench with the game already in hand.
