Paige Bueckers spent her offseason attending New York Fashion Shows and WNBA games to support her former UConn teammate Nika Muhl. She also took time to visit her family in Minnesota, where she was seen dancing with her brother in several TikTok videos. Fans were constantly surprised each time she was seen at a different event.
Embracing her "world tour" era, Bueckers has made it clear to her fans that she was still dedicated to her training. However, that did not stop coach Geno Auriemma from hilariously commenting on her enjoyment of life.
He compared her to Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian, two Hollywood stars known for their busy schedules. Auriemma said, as per Connor Wilson:
“I vary from calling her Paige Swift or Paige Kardashian because she’s everywhere, but people don’t see the work she’s put in.”
Paige Bueckers reveals how she wants to be remembered as a college hooper
Despite the several trips, events and shows she attended, Paige Bueckers remained committed to her practice time with the team.
The star senior will be playing her fifth and final season of college basketball before she declares for the 2025 WNBA draft.
As it is her last season being a college athlete, the UConn standout was asked by LSU's Flau'jae Johnson how she would like to be remembered as an athlete, and she said (from 25:36):
"Just being resilient. I've gone through a lot of stuff since I've been at college, just like injuries and adversity. But just being resilient, being a winner, being a great teammate, great leader, I think being the best the best teammate I could be is like the most important thing for me."
"And just being someone that would do anything for the program, rep the program proud. Did great things on and off the floor for the communities. Just being a great human being along with being great basketball player, but a lot."
Paige Bueckers and the Huskies will play Boston U in their season tip-off in November. The Minnesota native is expected to be the No. 1 pick in next year's WNBA draft.
