Paige Bueckers is coming off her best collegiate season. She led the UConn Huskies to the Final Four behind her team-high 21.9 points per game, that too, coming from an ACL injury. Even though her team lost to Caitlin Calrk's Iowa Hawkeyes in the Final Four, she was the most outstanding player from the Big East Tournament and is projected to be the No. 1 pick in the 2025 WNBA draft.

With that, one of her head-turning moments recently came while watching a WNBA game. Paige "Buckets" Bueckers attended the Washington Mystics' game against the Connecticut Sun on Wednesday while cheering for her former UConn teammate and close friend Aaliyah Edwards. She donned a black T-shirt with "EVERYONE WATCHES WOMEN'S SPORTS," written on it.

After the WNBA gave fans a glimpse of the future WNBA star on Instagram, she reposted the clip while quipping "peep the shirt" on her IG story.

The game ended 76-59 to the Sun, as the winless Mystics' poor season continues. Edwards, for her part, ended the night with 14 points and nine rebounds.

Bueckers and Edwards' games grew alongside each other while playing for the Huskies. From combining for nearly 22 points per game in their sophomore year, the two churned out their best season together last year.

Bueckers averaged 21.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.2 steals during the 2023-24 season. Meanwhile, Aaliyah Edwards generated 17.6 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.7 steals. Moreover, they both shot more than 53% from the field, individually.

Aaliyah Edwards has Paige Bueckers' continued support

Even though the hardwood doesn't pit them together anymore – at least for some time – Bueckers has consistently found ways to support Edwards. After Bueckers withdrew her name from the WNBA's talent pool, she decided to cheer for Edwards during the 2024 WNBA draft night.

Her excitement upon Edwards' selection instantaneously went viral. Bueckers was seen recording Aaliah Edwards' moment as the Washington Mystics drafted her with the No. 6 overall pick at Brooklyn Academy of Music. Moreover, she regularly highlights Edwards' on-court moments on her X/Twitter account.

Furthermore, Bueckers also hyped Nika Muhl, another former UConn teammate now playing in the big league. Muhl could not participate in the first four games with the Seatle Storm due to visa issues. So, as the Croatian-born player donned a visa-inspired look during her debut, Bueckers couldn't help but shout it out on X.
