LSU Tiger coach Kim Mulkey has coached many stars in her 39-year-long career. It started with 15 years at Louisiana Tech as an assistant coach, followed by 21 years at Baylor and now at LSU since 2021.

She met with two of her former students, Moon Ursin and Nina Davis, from Baylor, and posted a picture with them on her Instagram on July 14.

"Couldn’t be prouder of these two! Great players, amazing coaches and even better human beings! 💛," Kim Mulkey wrote in the caption.

Moon Ursin spent four years at Baylor from 2017 to 2021, averaging 6.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists. Ursin was a part of the 2019 championship-winning squad and helped the Bears to win three Big 12 Tournament Championships.

For her final college eligibility season, Moon Ursin moved to Tulane, where she was appointed as the Assistant Coach and Director of Video from the 2023-24 season.

Nina Davis spent four seasons with the Baylor Bears from 2013 to 2017. She averaged 16.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.2 steals throughout her college career.

The 2015 Big 12 Player of the Year led Baylor to Elite Eight appearances in all four years of playing. Nina Davis totaled more than 2,000 points and took more than 1,000 rebounds, becoming one of Baylor's best. Baylor retired Nina Davis' jersey in 2019.

After her graduation, Davis played internationally in Vienna, Austria before joining ESPN in 2019. She was a part of the NCAA semifinals and national championship broadcasts. In 2020, Nina Davis was selected as the assistant coach for the Middle Tennessee Lady Raiders. Speaking of her time at Baylor under Mulkey, she said (per Middle Tennessee State University Athletics):

"Playing at a top-level program at Baylor exposed me to great athletes and provided me with opportunities. I also got to play for an outstanding coach in Kim Mulkey, and I learned so much from her. I'm ready to take all of the experiences I have been through and pass that along to the players."

Kim Mulkey and the LSU Tigers prepare for a tough season

After failing to defend their 2023 National championship, Kim Mulkey will be hoping for better fortunes. She has acquired Shayeann Day-Wilson, Kailyn Gilbert and Mjracle Sheppard, Jersey Wolfenbarger, from the transfer portal ahead of the upcoming season.

The biggest change to the Tigers is the loss of Angel Reese to the WNBA and Hailey Van Lith to the transfer portal. With these two players gone, coach Mulkey will have to rely on Flau'jae Johnson and Aneesah Morrow to carry the team.
